PID speed control of DC motor using meta-heuristic algorithms

This paper presents archimedes optimization algorithm(AOA) and dispersive flies optimization(DFO) to optimally tune gain parameters of PID control scheme in order regulate DC motor’s speed. These suggested techniques the controller by minimization fitness function represented integral time multiplied absolute error (ITAE). The modelling simulation are carried out MATLAB/Simulink. transient response unit step input obtained from AOA-PID-ITAE andDFO-PID-ITAE controllers were compared those Ziegler-Nichols (ZN) method particle swarm optimization(PSO). results indicate that DFO-PID-ITAE more efficient than ZN PSO reducing rise settling time. Likewise, DFOconverge faster optimal solution with lower overshoot AOA PSO.
